From Pointy Hair to Curly Tie…Surviving Project Management
Thursday August 21, 2008 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM This event has concluded.
The QA or Project Manager has the unique perspective of knowing more about a project than any other individual. The QA engineer knows the execution of the tasks, but does not know the overall strategic view of management. Senior management knows the higher level goals, but is not executing the test plans. The QA Manager usually has insight to both and is there to bridge the gap and make strategic vision an executed reality. This presentation will take a light-hearted approach to the challenges a QA Manager faces while illustrating techniques that can improve product quality and communication from management to testers.
Speaker:
Keith Meyer, Lab Director - nResult
Keith has been involved in the computer field for over 15 years. Keith's testing experience ranges from games to medical devices, and to each project he brings a practiced, methodical approach to locating and eliminating defects. Keith has also been on the development side of software and understands the pressure development teams often face. Now working as Lab Director for nResult, Keith uses his past skills to identify client needs and deploy the correct team for the task.

Many of these approaches can be modified and used by anyone to improve QA and development processes such as verification & validation testing, to improve product quality.
