PCTEST, a world leader in Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) testing, issues the first HAC certification for Over-The-Top (OTT) VoIP services in accordance with the updated FCC rules of 47 CFR 20.19.
The new requirements, as detailed in the Fourth Report and Order (FCC 15-155), came into effect on January 1, 2018 and expanded HAC evaluation on wireless handsets to include OTT VoIP services on handsets through preinstalled apps, in addition to voice technologies such as VoLTE and VoWIFI (CMRS WIFI Calling). This will ensure continued accessibility to latest mobile voice services to the hearing aid community.
This latest certification milestone by PCTEST follows previous first certifications in HAC for VoLTE and VoWIFI.
